Media & Technology Features
This light pickup truck offers some impressive features, even at the base level. The Tacoma comes standard with the Entune™ Audio and Multimedia Bundle. This includes a 6.1-inch touchscreen display that’s voice activate, allowing drivers to use voice commands to select their media or phone contacts. Using this screen, you can select media from the AM/FM radio, the CD player, or the portable media device that’s connected to the USB port or auxiliary input to play through the vehicle’s 6-speaker sound system. The Bluetooth® system allows for hands-free phone calls, or you can use it to stream audio entertainment from your smartphone’s library or apps.
Driver-Assistance Technology
One of the biggest advantages that this Toyota truck has over other pickups is that it comes standard with driver-assistance technology features. The Toyota Safety Sense™ P system includes several features that use radar sensors mounted to the exterior of the vehicle to measure distances, speed, and proximity, as well as identifying the lines in the road.
These features include the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, which can detect an object in your path and apply enough brake pressure to help reduce the risk of a collision. The Lane Departure Alert—a feature that detects when you begin to stay from your path. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control lets you set a cruising speed, as well as a preferred distance between you and the vehicle ahead. This system will actually reduce the speed and adapt to the flow of traffic to ensure that the set distance is kept.
