Waldorf Toyota Donates To National MS Society

At Waldorf Toyota, one foundation we're very passionate about is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable disease that attacks the central nervous system, breaking the flow between the brain and body. The cause of MS is still unknown, but scientists believe a combination of environmental and genetic factors contributes to one developing the MS disease.

We at Waldorf Toyota know what it’s like to have a loved one diagnosed with MS. One of our very own team members at Waldorf Toyota was diagnosed with MS back in 2019, so the disease has taken a personal toll on all of our team members. We decided last year to do something about it to help. Since then, we have made it a goal to make a difference to help those fighting the battle against MS. Last year, Waldorf Toyota donated $27,500—$100 for every car we sold—to the National MS Society, one of the biggest organizations spearheading MS research and community building. In 2022, we’ve been able to donate $25,000 to the same organization, all in an effort to fight the MS disease.

Our team here at Waldorf Toyota is committed to helping cure MS and other diseases as well. That’s why we donate to other community causes in Waldorf, as it’s just one more way we strive to help the fine folks of Waldorf, Maryland.

What is MS?

Multiple sclerosis, also known as MS, is a life-threatening disease that affects the nerve communications within the brain and between the brain and the body. It’s not well-understood as there is no answer to what causes the disease or how to slow it down or cure it. Patients with MS can experience unpredictable symptoms, including numbness, tingling, blindness, mood changes, memory problems, fatigue, pain, and even paralysis. The disease progresses unpredictably as well, so it can be hard to treat.
