Community Spotlight: Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center
Maryland’s Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is exactly what it sounds like–a place where people of all ages can visit to explore, learn, experience, and celebrate. It’s also a place where creativity thrives, which is why we’ve created this informative guide to everything you need to know before you head over.
The Sculpture Garden
Their sculpture garden is set up around a quarter-mile walking path. You can amble through scenic woods and a variety of permanent and loaned sculptures, including ones from artists like Fransisco Zuniga, Jean Arp, Barbara Hepworth, and Antonio Tobias Mendez. More than thirty of these works are on loan from either the Smithsonian Institution or the National Gallery of Art, so come and see them while you still can.
The Arts Center
They also have multiple indoor exhibitions inside their arts center. The main-floor gallery hosts several well-loved shows, such as the Nature Nook, the artLAB, and Ann Marie’s co-education space. You’ll also want to get over to the Solomons, MD, gallery as soon as you can to enjoy some of these temporary shows:
- Folksy: Cultural Traditions & Outside Visions (April 26th, 2019 – September 22nd, 2019)
- Ebb & Flow: The Power of Water (May 24th, 2019 – September 2nd, 2019)
- Art Blooms Floral Design Exhibit (July 13th, 2019 – July 14th, 2019)
- The Shaping of America: A Painter’s Perspective (September 27th, 2019 – October 26th, 2019)
Following them on Twitter is probably the best way to keep up with any of their upcoming art exhibitions.
Programs, Events, Rentals, Involvement, and Beyond
Yet there are so many ways to fall in love with this organization besides just perusing their sculptures, paintings, and other works of art.
