Light Pickup Truck Safety Technology

2019 Toyota Tacoma

A major separation with these two similar pickups is with their respective safety features. The Toyota Tacoma comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense™ P. This system contains a few driver-assistive technology features that drivers can rely on to avoid a potential collision on the road. The Tacoma includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Sway Warning System, Automatic High Beams, and even Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

All of these features use sensors to measure proximity and speed to provide ample warnings if the vehicle gets too close to an object on the road. The Chevy Colorado does offer similar driver-assistance features, but only after a few upgrades.
