2018 Toyota Tundra vs Ford F-150 Off-Roading Capability

2018 Toyota Tundra Off-Roading

The 2018 Toyota Tundra is made for delivering a versatile performance when you’re out for some rugged off-road driving or crossing over rocky or slick roads.

One of the ways it’s set up for durable driving is with its high-mounted double wishbone front suspension. This also features a useful stabilizer bar. In the back, there’s a multi-leaf rear suspension. Both suspensions feature low-pressure nitrogen-gas-filled shock absorbers. To build on this, there’s available front and rear sway bars and Bilstein® shocks.

This tough and capable chassis lets you drive over uneven terrain with ease and gives the Toyota Tundra a high 10.4-inch ground clearance, to help with getting over rocks and through streams.

The 2018 Ford F-150 features a similar front and rear suspension, but they don’t have gas-filled shock absorbers. It also doesn’t offer Bilstein® shocks. As a result, it sits lower with a ground clearance of 9.9 inches.

You’ll have a choice up front between a bench seat for three people or two seats with a center armrest. Either way, having a second row of seats lets you bring your crew along on your next camping trip or night out.

The extra space also helps you out if you want to carry cargo that doesn’t need a full truck bed. With split fold-up rear seats, you can load some bags or luggage into the backseat to keep them close by.

The 2018 Ford F-150 also offers a second row of seats, but not with every cab. Its larger SuperCab and SuperCrew styles allow you to bring friends along for the ride, but its base Regular Cab is so compact that it only offers one row of seats.
