Toyota has introduced a new member of the Toyota SUV lineup ‒ meet the 2021 Highlander XSE. Closing the gap between the XLE and Limited trim levels, the new Highlander will expand available trim options and offer a sportier, more performance driven SUV comparable to that of a Jeep Cherokee or Ford Explorer. This new trim marks a significant milestone in the revitalization of the Toyota Highlander!

2021 Highlander XSE

Exclusive Highlander XSE Interior and Exterior Features

The 2021 Highlander XSE offers a great mixture of customer favorite features you might find in the XLE and Limited trim editions, only redefined. Veering away from the classic, family friendly SUV look, the new Highlander delivers an edgier, more aggressive style. Red and black Softex or leather-trimmed seating accompanied with ambient lighting and carbon-fiber finished panels makes for quite a statement. Typical of a Highlander, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity are included, with JBL Premium Sound System and available Dynamic Navigation for on the go assistance.

The new 2021 Highlander’s exterior is just as boldly impressive as it’s interior. Sleek black roof rails, mirror caps, and window moldings along with a redesigned facia, grille, and lower spoiler make for a much needed revamped look. The 20” machine-faced alloy wheels and a dual-tip chrome exhaust perfectly accent the athletic style.

Highlander XSE Performance & Pricing

Along with changes to the interior and exterior, the Toyota Highlander offers some great upgraded performance features too. Added to this trim level are an improved rear stabilizing bar, higher rate springs, and redesigned shock absorbs for a powerful, yet smooth driving experience! Similar to other trim options, the Highlander XSE is equipped with a standard 3.5L V6 engine which generates 295 horsepower offering an efficient, but powerful ride. At 20 and 27 miles per gallon in city and highway driving respectively, you can spend less and drive more!

Speaking of spending less, Waldorf Toyota offers competitive pricing for all new cars, trucks and SUVs, and the release of the new Highlander will be no exception. The 2020 Toyota Highlander XLE starting MSRP is $39,000 while the starting MSRP for a 2020 Toyota Highlander Limited is $42,000. Since the 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE sits between these two trim levels, this offers a great general idea of the new Highlander’s price point. After it’s official release, more information will become available.
